Whats an offer?
We are looking for a Logistics Operations Transport Controller to join an amazing global company at the forefront of there market! They can offer growth and longevity at their fantastic site located in Coalville. This is a new position which is focused on growing and developing new European and UK domestic transport business opportunities and maintaining existing transport activities, it is imperative that your road knowledge is sound along with Custom clearance. This is primarily an operations role with a commercial focus on negotiating advantageous rates for transport and quoting our services to existing and potential new clients.
As a Logistics Operations Transport Controller, responsibilities will include but not limited to:
* Receive and process customer orders for out-bound deliveries.
* Organise the most efficient, cost-effective transport solution to deliver shipments on time.
* Arrange delivery appointments with consignee’s / delivery points.
* Contact haulage partners for quotes, negotiate rates and organise bookings.
* Process all transport partner invoices in a timely manner.
* Invoice clients within our agreed internal KPI’s.
* Obtain POD’s following deliveries, update our operating system with milestones.
* On board new haulage partners, obtain relevant documentation
* Work closely with our customs team to support import / export customs documentation.
* Conduct investigation into any delivery issues, updating our non-conformity system and responding to customers with root cause analysis and future preventative actions.
* Provide effective communication to team members, customers, and management
* Develop SOPs for transport operations where required.
* Ensure all reports including internal and customer specific are completed within the deadlines, including customer KPI’s.
* Any other tasks as directed by their manager.
Skills and Attributes as a Logistics Operations Transport Controller:
* Strong, demonstratable EU & UK domestic operational transport experience and knowledge.
* Good negotiation skills.
* Good knowledge of freight operating software with prior use of Cargowise desirable.
* Fully PC literate on MS office applications.
* EU Export and Import customs clearance knowledge, desirable.
