Job Opportunity: Design Engineer
Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Monday-Friday (08:00 – 17:00)
We are seeking a skilled CAD Design Engineer to join our dynamic Design Department and provide essential CAD support to the Toolroom. If you are passionate about precision design, problem-solving, and have a keen eye for detail, this role could be your next exciting challenge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Skilled using 3D CAD software, (SolidWorks desirable)
- Designing components and creating assemblies.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, with a focus on injection moulding.
- Interpretation of design briefs with a creative approach.
- Effective collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Clear communication of ideas to both engineers and non-engineers, utilising verbal communication and creating marked up sketches, drawings, and photographs.
- Active involvement in new projects and continuous improvement of existing designs.
What we need from you:
- Previous experience as a design engineer within a manufacturing environment, similar industries may include, FMCG, precision engineering, fabrication, manufacturing.
- Previous experience using Solidworks or similar design programs.
- Relevant Qualifications (HNC, HNC, Degree level - or equivalent) – desirable
- Strong eye for details
- Full UK Driving License
