Job Summary
Join a dynamic team engaged in a critical infrastructure project, overseeing the civil and utilities excavations necessary for the construction and completion of the Metro Tramway in Central Birmingham. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of a key public transport initiative.
Role Overview
Oversight of civil and utilities excavations for the WMCA Tramway project, ensuring all phases of construction meet the stringent requirements and timelines specific to this high-profile project.
What You'll Be Doing Day to Day
Act as the primary interface between Svella's team, client representatives, and wider stakeholder contractors, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
Conduct regular reviews of project status, ensuring all options have been considered and evaluated to improve construction performance.
Challenge and collaborate with the commercial team to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective approach is used to deliver outstanding results.
Promote safety and environmental awareness through Near Miss and Positive Intervention reporting.
Provide strong leadership to employees on-site, maintaining high standards of work and discipline.
Ensure efficient communication and engagement with the supply chain.
Control and manage site environmental issues comprehensively.
Develop and maintain strong team working relationships, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Ensure all project KPIs and KPMs are achieved, aligning with overall project goals.
Upload necessary documents to company systems, maintaining compliance with business requirements.
Develop accurate project programs for weekly updates to management.
Ensure compliance with all procedures through regular submissions of weekly/monthly reports.
Manage cost risks effectively and identify problematic issues on site early.
Take ownership of project details, including costs, programs, documentation, site activities, and procurement.

Submit weekly progress reports and other necessary data to divisional coordinators. The Experience We're Looking For in a Candidate
Proven experience delivering multiple civil workstreams, particularly in new builds, diversions, and utilities management. (essential)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
Good organizational skills and proficient IT knowledge.
NRSWA accreditation to the supervisory level. (Preferred)
PIA Accreditation. (Preferred)
