Mechanical Fitter – Doncaster
Job Description:
We have a vacancy for a Mechanical Fitter to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will work within a small, dynamic team in a growing recycling business. This essential role ensures that the plant runs smoothly, and downtime is minimized. We are seeking a proactive, adaptable, and efficient maintenance fitter with a strong background in heavy plant maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform maintenance and repair tasks on heavy plant equipment.
* Ensure the smooth operation of motors, conveyors, and gearboxes.
* Conduct MIG welding and fabrication tasks as required.
* Troubleshoot and rectify mechanical issues promptly.
* Work collaboratively within a small team to achieve operational efficiency.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
* Follow health and safety protocols at all times.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter, specifically in heavy plant environments.
* Proficiency in MIG welding and fabricating.
* Experience with maintaining motors, conveyors, and gearboxes.
* Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team.
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
* Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to support business operations.
Hours of Work:
* Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
* Additional hours as required to meet business needs.
Compensation:
* Hourly rate: £15.00 - £17.50 per hour, depending on experience.
