What you will be doing: As the new Quality Control Inspector - you will be reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager and will ensure that all incoming, in-process, and final product, and shipping preparation of product meet the required quality standards. Practically speaking, you will: Perform dimensional and inspections to product requirements (incoming, in-process and final) Perform electrical testing such as continuity, DWV, IR tests Perform AC/DC Hipot Tests Solder and crimp to make test adapters for the automated test equipment as needed Ensure products meet requirements by checking to drawings and specification Package finished product especially aircraft harnesses Assist in developing new and revising current testing and inspection procedures Perform inspections as required as a designated inspector for NASA / IPC Space Addendum Additional Job Expectations: Ensure that no defective part is shipped to the customer Determine quality and reliability standards by studying drawings, verifying specifications with Quality Assurance Manager Identify in-process product condition by conducting in-process inspections and physical tests Determine disposition of finished product by judging product acceptability in comparison to specifications Determine acceptability of rework by conducting inspections and physicals tests of reworked product Document finished product status by recording and summarizing in-process and finished product inspection and physical test data Maintain quality assurance operations by following quality assurance standards and procedures, reporting needed change Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with 5S and HSE rules Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Computer: Use of software ex. IFS, SharePoint software for data recording and reporting Use of email for interdepartmental communications Other: Train, coach and mentor new QC inspectors May be asked from time-to-time to cover for other QC inspection The Details This is a fulltime permanent position for a day shifts 8:30am to 5:00pm on Monday to Friday schedule. The ideal candidate will be based in the client's location. What you will bring: Secondary School graduate, post-secondary education preferred 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferable in wire & cable industry Experience in quality control in a similar industry ex. semiconductor is an asset Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications Excellent communication skills, verbal and written (fluency in English necessary) Basic knowledge of electricity and electronics Ability to perform light physical work such as torqueing of aircraft harnesses Ability to use a variety of hand tools Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines Ability to meet deadlines or ahead of schedule with high quality work standard Ability to interpret drawing and schematics Familiarity with following considered an asset: IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC 610, IPC J-Standard Looking for meaningful work?
