Baird and Co Recruitment, a specialist Social Housing recruitment firm, are currently recruiting for an interim Building Safety Manager for a registered provider in South Birmingham.

This role is a hybrid-position for a true community organisation, supporting and advise the Director of Assets in maintaining medium and long term compliance investment programmes over the next 5,10 and 30 years.

Starting asap, the Building Safety Manager role is full-time, with the role responsible for managing a portfolio of buildings to ensure the highest level of landlord’s compliance regarding building safety, ensuring compliance with legislation about the safety of the property assets.

The Building Safety Manager will be expected to:

* Lead and manage a compliance team to coordinate the delivery of building safety compliance

* Present briefings, analysis and recommendations to senior management, executive boards, committee’s, trustees and external agencies

* Effectively coordinate the management and learning from complaints

* Ensure Building Safety obligations are met, maintained, updated and monitored to the highest levels of accuracy and governance

* Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), Policies, Procedures, Financial reports and Statutory Returns to relevant committees, trustees and external agencies

* Review and audit Fire Management Plans, including fire evacuation and security arrangements

* Preparation of Building Safety Cases for specific buildings within the property portfolio

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of any new legislation relating to buildings or Eco specifications to uphold accurate and relevant stock condition data

* Identify and mitigate risks associated with building safety activities

* Provide customers and residents with key building safety and fire safety information

* Support the effective handover of new properties compliance data into building portfolio

* Build relationships with relevant contractors and suppliers to optimise an environment of continuous improvement and Value for Money (VFM)

* Work in partnership with external partners to ensure delivery of Corporate Plan

The following is required to secure the Building Safety Manager post:

* Experience working in a senior compliance related role

* Management experience within a multi discipline compliance team and varied building portfolio.

* Experience effectively operating within legislative requirements of Landlord Health & Safety and a Building Safety environment.

* Demonstrable knowledge of building safety and fire legislation / consultations
