Job Advertisement: Grounds and Streets Operative (Temporary)

Location: S60 1AE

Contract Type: 3-month contract with the possibility of an extension.

Working Hours: 42 hours per week, 08:00 - 16:00

Pay Rate: £12.00 per hour PAYE

Job purpose:

Your main responsibilities will include mowing open green spaces on highways, roadside verges, parks and housing estates, blowing footpaths, picking up litter and other aspects in relation to grounds maintenance Additional responsibilities when required, removal of weed growth, litter picking, removal of drug litter and carrying out winter salting.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, the majority of your role will involve grass-cutting and related tasks to maintain the appearance and functionality of outdoor areas. Your responsibilities will include:

Performing routine grass-cutting and maintenance activities using appropriate equipment.
Ensuring all grounds are kept clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing.
Carrying out general gardening tasks such as weeding, planting, and pruning.
Assisting with the upkeep of pathways, flowerbeds, and other landscaped areas.
Operating and maintaining tools and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
Adhering to health and safety guidelines while working on the grounds.
Collaborating with the team to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.Requirements: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

Previous experience in grounds maintenance or a related field is desirable.
Knowledge of grass-cutting techniques and equipment is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Basic understanding of health and safety protocols.
