Thesis Survey and benchmarking on fault density in software

There is no fault free software, even if we thrive for it. One way to measure our achievements could be to evaluate the fault density of our software and compare it to other available data. This is especially relevant if the software is intended to be used in safety- and security-related environments or is absolutely mission critical - as Vector's AUTOSAR software is. There is plenty of scientific research just waiting to be used for a benchmark and evaluate the bar that our products have to meet in future.Your Tasks:

• Literature research
• Analysis of Vector's issue database
• Evaluation, comparison, and benchmarking of different sources for fault densities

Your Profile:

• You study computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering or a similar discipline
• You are familiar with at least one programming language
• You have experience in statistics
• Good German and English language skills
