Overview: 
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of safety within our organization. Your primary responsibilities will include developing and implementing EHS programs, conducting audits and inspections, identifying potential hazards, and providing training to employees. Responsibilities: 
 
Develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in the glass industry.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and assess compliance with EHS standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with various processes, equipment, and chemicals used in glass manufacturing.
Provide technical guidance and support to management and employees on EHS issues, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Develop and deliver EHS training programs to promote employee awareness and compliance with safety procedures, including emergency response and incident management.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, analyze root causes, and develop corrective and preventive action plans to mitigate risks and prevent future occurrences.
Maintain accurate records of EHS activities, including incidents, OSHA 300 logs, inspections, training sessions, and compliance documentation.
Stay up to date with relevant EHS regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends in the glass industry to continuously improve the organization's EHS programs.
Collaborate with regulatory agencies and external auditors during inspections, ensuring compliance and addressing any findings or recommendations.
Support the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives related to waste management, energy conservation, and emissions reduction in the glass manufacturing process.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) are highly desirable.
Proven experience (3-5 years) working as an EHS Specialist, preferably in the glass industry or a related manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
Familiarity with glass manufacturing processes, equipment, and associated hazards.
Ability to assess risks, develop practical solutions, and implement effective EHS programs to prevent incidents and ensure compliance.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to deliver engaging training sessions and effectively communicate EHS requirements to all levels of the organization.
Analytical mindset and attention to detail to conduct thorough inspections, investigations, and data analysis.
Proficiency in using EHS management software and tools to track and report on EHS performance metrics.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build positive relationships with employees, management, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders.
