SEN Teaching Assistant Needed

We are looking for someone who has a real passion for working with children who have additional needs. This role is to start as soon as possible. You will be working on a 1:1 basis with a child that has high-functioning Autism. You must be able to form a strong working relationship and get to know the child. You will be working in a small class with a great class teacher who adapts to the needs of the students. The school has great facilities that really help create an inclusive environment that will give you the ability to adapt to the needs of the child. This is a full-time position with the possibility of continuing on until September. This Ofsted rated "Good" school is a community school that puts the welfare of the children and staff at the forefront of everything they do.

Salary: £18,000 - £21,000 pro rata

The Ideal Candidate:

· You must have experience working with children, but we are open to taking on people from a range of different backgrounds. The key ingredient is having the passion to make a difference in the lives of children who have additional needs.

Responsibilities:

· Provide 1:1 support to a child who has special needs and form a relationship of trust.

· Experience with working with children aged 4 - 11 years old with Autism, Social Communication Difficulties, Complex Needs, and associated behaviors.

· Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions.

· Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

· Engage with other teachers to keep an updated care plan and work with the class teacher to adapt to the child's needs.

Qualifications:

· We welcome applicants with various qualifications. Ideally, we are looking for Level 2 or above teaching assistant qualifications or equivalent.

· Ability to make learning accessible to students with varying levels of ability. This includes familiarity with basic computer skills, internet safety, software applications, and other relevant areas.

Hours:

· Full Time, Monday to Friday, 08:30 till 15:30
