A little about Nightingale

Nightingale Nursing & Care Home is based in the centre of Edwinstowe, near Mansfield. The home, although purpose-built, has been made very homely, and has a selection of garden areas, in line with Jasmine’s values and ethos. The home provides personal, nursing and dementia care to 49 residents

Day to Day Responsibilities

You will provide, manage, and develop a high-quality catering service to our residents, guests and visitors to the home.
You will operate a safe, professional, and cost-effective catering service within the company operational standards and comply with all statutory requirements.
You will ensure that all our residents are provided with enough choice of nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day, broadly following the standard menus.
 You will ensure that food orders are made punctually two times a week and that the food costs are within budget throughout the year.

Essential Requirements

Basic or intermediate Food Safety Certificate
To contractually work towards a Level 3 catering qualification if you do not already have one
Two years’ catering experience.
One years’ experience of managing people.
Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
Experience conducting effective person centred one to ones
Live within 20 minutes of the Home.

Preferred Requirements

One years’ experience working in a similar role in a residential or nursing home; or
Hold a Level 3 qualification.
One years’ experience in a similar role.
Two years catering experience in a fast-paced environment.
Experience creating nutritious, well balanced and attractive menus.
managing/training a team.
budgeting and control of purchasing.
motivating and working within a team.
using new products and developments in the catering industry.
One years’ experience of working as a Chef in a Hospital, Nursing Home or Residential Home
Conduct effective person centred one to ones
