Key Responsibilities:

Work within the investment ecosystem in order to identify innovative businesses with the best growth potential.

Handle leads and enquiries to ascertain suitability for Innovation & Growth support and services.

Create leads, convert, and deliver services and advice to clients to meet your individual and the team’s targets. Making appropriate records on the relevant systems, reports, and documentation to comply with Innovate UK requirements.

Account manage a portfolio of clients and deliver bespoke support packages by working with companies one-to-one.

Provide in depth one to one support with businesses in order to develop and deliver their immediate and long term funding and finance goals.

Participate and support the Business Growth teams Investment readiness Specialist Group. The group is focussed on providing a UK wide support network, the will provide investment support to Innovative businesses throughout the UK.

To act as strategic coach and mentor to clients to support them in developing their own long-term innovation commercialisation plans. Specifically provide a combination of advice, coaching and mentoring, that will help our companies manage the issues and risks associated with their business, considering several external factors.

Able to understand and communicate the key business issues affecting the profitability and growth of an enterprise, along with the factors leading to success in commercialising innovative ideas. Has sufficient knowledge of the strategic choices, practical process, and current issues (such as marketing, access to finance, intellectual property, business development, innovation support etc.) to be credible with clients.

Ensure client enquiries and partner referrals are correctly recorded on relevant CRMs and associated service specific data capturing systems, updating progress against agreed actions as plans progress and ensure all administration is completed in timely manner against deadlines and is checked for accuracy.

Work with the relevant businesses closely to monitor any outputs including new jobs created/safeguarded, any revenue increase, new solutions, internal and external improvement to the clients’ performance and capabilities and other service specific outputs and outcomes that result from activities undertaken.

Undertake detailed diagnostics on a business or a detailed diagnostic on a particular functional or business area using various tools and methods to capture baseline data from clients and to Identify needs, which should be addressed by developing growth action plans.  This will involve the analysis and interpretation of business and market data/intelligence to provide recommendations to senior management teams, boards, and shareholders.

Deliver bespoke innovation and growth support directly to enable them to fully meet their growth potential which typically has needed a more complex intervention; this will also include a multi-disciplinary approach to support provision.

Develop, plan, and manage innovation workshops, where required ensuring continuous improvement through measured evaluation.  Maximise the opportunity for delegates to network and share best practice and explore the potential for new business relationships.
