The Role
Youth Elevate is a new programme of activity which supports 16-24 year olds not in education, training or employment to address barriers and upskill, provide work experience and achieve positive onward destinations.
As a youth coordinator you will manage a caseload of young participants, being their mentor and coach. You will boost them with employability skills by assessing their needs and developing tailored support packages to aid them to enter either training, apprenticeships education, or employment. You will liaise with external partners and Southway departmental leads to co-ordinate and mange a variety of work placements. You will ensure contractual and quality compliance relating to paperwork, payments and the CRM system ensuring the system is kept up to date and complying with Data protection and confidentiality standards.

Candidates
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Employment and Skills team for a Youth Coordinator and for the right person we offer a 35-hour week, competitive salary, excellent contributory pension scheme, and 25 days holiday increasing to 30 days.

Our ideal candidate will have:

* Experience of managing a personal caseload of participants, whilst being the single point of contact, mentor and coach.
* The ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders, as well as the ability to work with autonomy and working as part of a team.
* The ability to interact with a variety of audiences and adapt communication styles
* The ability to evaluate strengths and needs of customers and create an effective strength-based action plan
* Experience of providing one to one assistance to young people
* Experience of working in partnership with statutory and non- statutory agencies
* A working knowledge of careers advice and benefits to support customers
* Excellent communication skills
