Large, very successful and well established Engineering Manufacturer with sites all over the UK, USA, the far east and Europe are expanding their engineering team in the UK.

Job Overview
Multi discipline Industrial Assoc Automation Engineer to work with engineering teams to develop inhouse automation processes and eliminating down time using safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.

You will need to work alongside other departments to develop automation plans that align with business goals.
The engineers then lead the implementation of changes or new technology and oversee the quality assurance (QA) process.

You will ensure Health & Safety regulations are adhered to, company policies are followed, and departmental and site KPIs are met. Promoting continuous improvement (Cl) and using it to improve the department and site.

A Day in The Life

Project manage engineering automation projects through to completion.
Deliver a seamless handover to production and maintenance team, including all documentation. Including O & M manual, drawings risk assessments and SOPs
Design, develop and implement effective process solutions that automate tasks that will add value or savings to the business manufacturing / assembly processes.
Create and modify PLC programs in existing and new automation cells.
Maintain and commission equipment, train personnel and create training manuals.
Work seamlessly with different business functions.
Including R&D engineering, manufacturing, assembly, quality, and H&S.
Using CAD, design commission mechanical automation equipment and processes including tooling jigs and fixtures,
Designing and testing schematics for, PLC / Pneumatics / electrics etc
Fault finding Mechanical and electrical problems and rectifying to ensure down time is minimised.
Carry out risk assessments.

What will help you thrive in this role?

Experience in a mechanical engineering discipline.
High-level understanding of Variable speed drives, pneumatics
A desire for self and site development
Experience in programming Allen Bradley PLCs.
Experience in programming HMI (FactoryTalk view/RSView32).
Programming and maintenance of Fanuc robots is desirable.
High-level understanding of industrial networks ideally Ethernet and Ethernet IP.
Work using your own initiative and be able to prioritise a busy workload.
High-level of understanding of industrial vision systems
Programming and maintenance of Fanuc robots is desirable.
18th-edition knowledge is advantageous.

Attention to detail - Ensure records and applicable test criteria are kept up to date.
Technical Inspection criteria is fully met and recorded.
Health and Safety requirements are fully met and recorded.
Understand the importance of Quality Principles within the business.
Computer literacy background - SAP & MS Office (Minimum)
