Job Description:

They are seeking a talented and motivated Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Stockport, Manchester. This role is ideal for Mechanical Design Engineers who are eager to contribute to innovative projects and develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with senior mechanical and electrical design engineers to develop detailed mechanical designs for a variety of building projects.
Prepare specifications, drawings, and schedules using AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software.
Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and technical assessments to inform design decisions.
Participate in client meetings to define project briefs, discuss design options, and provide technical advice.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and building regulations.
Coordinate with other disciplines within the company to ensure integrated project delivery.
Support the preparation of tender documentation and evaluate tender submissions.
Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and contribute to their professional development.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Essential Skills, Experience, and Attributes:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Proficiency in mechanical design software such as MEPWorx / IES, AutoCAD, and Revit.
Understanding of relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, and building regulations.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., CIBSE) is desirable.
Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
