Description

Nicholas Hendry is currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join a well-known, local manufacturer in the Dundee & Angus area. This is a critical role for our client and as such, they are seeking a commercially aware individual that can offer a strong contribution to the business. This role is directly responsible for the effective management of the Purchase, Sales & General ledger functions and will report directly to the Financial Director.

This is an exciting time to be joining our client as they have a solid forecast for growth, this is a new position that has been created to support that growth & will also serve as succession planning for the organisation, with scope for the post to develop within the next few years.

Responsibilities

* Work with the Finance Director in preparation of accurate monthly management accounts and annual financial reports.

* Suggest updates and improvements to accounting systems including payroll and invoicing.

* Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.

* Develop the budget and financial plans for the company.

* Effective management of the finance teams on a daily basis, guide, motivate and assist where necessary.

* Organise the external audit, year-end stocktake and preparation of schedules and files for the auditors.

* Provide the operational teams with analysis to contribute to the achievement of production efficiencies.

* Analyse the monthly margin reports.

* Provide timely & accurate MI to both Financial Director & Senior Management

* Ad-hoc project work as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, etc, however, qualified by experience candidates will also be considered, it would also be advantageous to have previous experience of working within a manufacturing/FMCG environment, but this is not essential.
