Product Development Consultant
Location: Canterbury (flexible on work location with hybrid options)

This dynamic business is at the forefront of innovative EV station design, specialising in bespoke solutions that integrate cutting-edge technology and unique branding opportunities for our clients. The team comprises dynamic professionals from sales, marketing, operations, design, and structural engineering, all working together to create exceptional EV charging experiences.
As a Product Development Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in driving the conceptualisation and realisation of bespoke EV stations. You will work closely with clients and the sales team to develop innovative concepts, manage the design finalisation with our in-house designer, and coordinate with third-party suppliers and contractors to bring these concepts to life. Your entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and project management skills will be crucial in delivering commercially viable and innovative products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Concept Development: Collaborate with clients and the sales team to create innovative concepts for bespoke EV stations, including theft prevention measures, branded shelters, and neon designs.
* Client Engagement: Work directly with clients to understand their needs and finalise briefs, ensuring that all concepts align with their branding and operational requirements.
* Design Finalisation: Liaise with the in-house designer to refine and finalise design concepts, ensuring feasibility and adherence to client specifications.
* Supplier Coordination: Identify and manage relationships with third-party suppliers and contractors to source materials and services necessary for the installation and implementation of EV stations.
* Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle, from initial concept to final installation, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution.
* Commercial Acumen: Evaluate opportunities to bring aspects of the supply chain in-house for increased profitability and efficiency.
* Innovation & Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continually introduce cutting-edge solutions to clients.
Requirements:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development, project management, or a related role, preferably within the EV or renewable energy sector.
* Skills:
* Strong creative and conceptual thinking abilities.
* Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage client relationships and cross-functional teams.
* Commercial awareness and the ability to identify and act on profitable opportunities.
* Knowledge of design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* High attention to detail and quality.
