Senior Practice Accountant - Job description

A part time, Senior Accountant is required to join our team working from home as a self-employed contractor.

We will agree with you the number of days each week that you’d like to work and we will gradually assign you work on our clients to grow your portfolio of work in support of our delivery of client work.

Senior Practice Accountant - The role involves:

* Managing a set portfolio of our clients from a wide variety of industries

* Building a relationship with clients to become one of the clients’ main points of contact

* Regular client calls and emails, with occasional meetings in London

* Proactively dealing with client queries and supporting advice that delivers

* Preparing and filing statutory accounts (UK GAAP, FRS102 and FRS105) and CT600 returns for Ltd companies (and a few LLPs and SA100s)

* Occasional VAT returns – prepare, review and submit

* Providing management figures as required for some clients and discussing them as required

* Reviewing the work of client bookkeepers when necessary

* Understanding, committing to and adhering to our firm’s AML procedures.

* Committing to maintaining your CPD to ensure your knowledge remains up to date on relevant accounting and tax matters

Our ideal Senior Practice Accountant must...

* Demonstrate high level of professionalism to deliver client service excellence.

* Have at least 5 years’ experience in practice covering the role outlined above

* Hold one of the following qualifications, ACCA, FCCA, ACA, FCA.

* Have strong knowledge relevant tax legislation as regards mainstream tax computational and filing requirements (The firm uses other expert resources for tax advisory work)

* Be highly organised, reliable and good at managing their own work load

* Be competent with technology and accounting software products such as Xero, Taxfiler and MS Excel

* Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

* Communicate confidently, clearly and effectively to the client and partner.

* Meet deadlines as required to keep our clients happy.
