I am working with a Local Authority in the South of London who are looking for a Road Safety Engineer.

The Road Safety and Sustainable School Travel Team within the Environment, Transport and Infrastructure directorate at this Local Authority is seeking to appoint a Road Safety Engineer.

The client is looking for someone who has:

* Experience of working within the road safety or highway design field

* An ability to understand highway design drawings and undertake analysis of road collision data

* Able to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external teams/bodies and work to tight deadlines

* A degree/qualification in civil engineering or similar related subject

* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

* Based in London OR in a commutable distance (Site Visit requirements)

What you will be required to assist with:

* Collision hotspot analysis and investigation

* Road safety audits of highway improvement schemes

* Maintenance of vehicle activated signs and school flashing wigwags

* Investigating the worst speeding sites and developing and commissioning a programme of highway improvements
