Real opportunity for a Composite Manufacturing Engineer to work as part of a talented, niche team with the ability to really make a difference on cutting-edge new projects at the forefront of innovation within the aerospace sector.  (The role will be project-led and offer real technical diversity and scope).

Supporting new product introduction projects, your knowledge and understanding of composites coupled with your Manufacturing Engineering expertise will play a key role in the delivery of key flagship programs within the business. 

The projects will be varied, offer technical variety and you will have the opportunity to make a difference and impact within production and the wider team.

With state-of-the-art facilities at your disposal, your role as Composite Manufacturing Engineer will encompass:

New Product Introduction – Using your engineering project management skills to work internally and externally with customers as a technical point of contact to support the design for the manufacture of composite parts and assemblies. (This will be complete composite component manufacture from lamination through to assembly and finishing processes).

Process development – developing composite manufacturing processes and assembly strategies for the production of advanced composite parts.

Capex and tooling - Supporting the purchase and commissioning of any required composite manufacturing equipment and / or tooling.

Undertaking PFMEA’s and implementing control plans across a number of different product lines

Continuous Improvement and problem-solving to streamline, improve efficiencies, and reduce waste

To succeed in this varied, technically interesting role, you will ideally have:

Previous experience of Manufacturing Engineering within a composite environment

An understanding of composite manufacturing such as pre-preg systems, curing, and Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) together with core composite processing techniques.

Be apprentice trained / HND+ qualified in engineering or have equivalent relevant industry experience.

Good analytical, organisational and communication skills
