Our client is looking for an experienced CNC Press Setter to join its team in Reading. Our client is a leading metal fabrication company.

This will be a permanent position to start IMMEDIATELY.

Shift:

* Monday to Friday

* 06:00am – 14:00pm and 14:00pm – 10pm (Rotating on a weekly basis)

* 37.5 hours a week (paid for 40)

* Saturday overtime available

Salary:

* £27,000 - £28,000 (plus 5% bonus based on company performance)

* Bonus paid month in arrears

Responsibilities:

* To set and operate CNC perforating presses.

* To work on continuous improvement projects to drive productivity, quality, and process improvements.

* Work as a key member within the engineering team to determine optimal production routes for products to optimise cost, achievable quality/tolerances and lead time and supply information to sales for quotation purposes.

* To produce quality parts at output targets

* To carry out checks in line with ISO 9001:2015 procedures

* To support the engineering team in investigating production defects and contributing to the root cause and corrective action implementation to resolve production and product issues.

* Ensure quality standards are met and high standards of housekeeping are maintained.

* To drive a continual improvement culture within the team

* Attend other meetings and generate ideas for improvements.

* To work as part of team

* Ensure the health, safety and welfare of self and others at all times.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Previous experience in manufacturing, ideally from mechanical background

* Experience of manufacturing best practice (SMED, 5S etc)

* Experience of sheet metal processing and material properties (primarily steels)

* Forklift (counter balance)

* Power press regulations certificate

* Internal auditing to ISO9001:2015

* Numerate and literate

* Able to read technical drawings

* Able to use measuring equipment (micrometres/verniers)

* PC literate
