An exciting opportunity within a growing and fast paced business for a person with experience in transport planning within Bristol, South Glos, and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will assist our Logistics and Operations manager in the daily planning and routing of our fleet of tippers to serve our customers delivering and collecting material from sites across the southwest.

We are looking for an ambitious individual ready to take on a new challenge in supporting our experienced & dynamic team. Perhaps you already have experience in coordinating drivers, materials or a fleet of vehicles and are looking for a new challenge?

This role would be well suited to individuals with a background/keen interest in Planning, Logistics or Transport Planning who are flexible, organised and used to working in a fast-paced environment.

Role Responsibilities:

* Communicate with customers times of delivery, and any possible delay’s that may occur.

* Answer phone in polite and timely manner taking orders, enquires and instructions from our clients.

* Liaise with supply chain to ensure material in stock and ordered for coming orders.

* Liasing with fleet and subcontractors to ensure all allocated orders and being delivered, as planned and on time as directed by Transport planner.

* Regular call to site and customers to be proactive in gathering information on forthcoming orders and requirements from our customers.

* Regular update on Internal order sheet to ensure correct information is ready for entering and programming on weigh soft.

* Assist in management and utilisation of the haulage fleet including subcontractors.

* Key point of contact with B&A Group driving team and subcontractors.

* Planning the routes for all vehicles, focusing on cost and efficiency

* Provide drivers with important routing information and site-specific instructions.

* Re-routing drivers as and when required quickly and efficiently.

* Track drivers progress and update client when required or requested.

* Monitor road network issues and advise drivers accordingly.

* Provide information between the operations, yard* regarding incoming and outgoing material.

* Assist with accident investigation and reporting.

* Process all administrative duties efficiently and accurately using Weighsoft. (training to be provided)

* Assist in implementation of new software to streamline quotation, planning and dispatch functions of transport department.

* Ad hoc duties as and when required.

Skills/Qualifications required:

* Previous experience in Logistics, Transport or Fleet Management

* Good geographical knowledge or scheduling/ route planning experience

* Full UK driver’s license

* Ability to manage your own time and to use your initiative.

* Flexible nature and strong work ethic/Can do attitude.

* Experienced in Microsoft Office systems and other office systems.

* Strong communicator

* Polite, professional, and calm under pressure
