Lead Handover Engineer

A fantastic opportunity for a Section / Senior Engineer to join the team at Murphy working on HS2/BBV Utilities Framework Contract as a Lead Handover Engineer. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and handover of various utility projects by providing a quality service to the Project Manager and Construction Manager to ensure we always deliver with pride, are always Fit to Finish and maintain our position as a partner of choice for BBV Utility Diversions.

What you will be doing

Creating and checking Inspection and Test Plans and associated Inspection and Test Checklists.
Leading and tracking the progress of as-built records and handover deliverables.
Coordinating the handover process with other stakeholders including the client.
Supporting engineers with following the inspection and test procedure and collating handover deliverables.
Checking installation on site is correct according to the Inspection and Test Plan and suitable records are being captured.
Review the Design Information prior to works commencing.
Checking that correct Quality Control is adhered to.
Resolving technical problems at all levels.
Preparing of Material Approval Records.
Ensuring activities are carried out in safe manner in accordance with the Project Safety Plan.
Ensure equipment is calibrated, in date and suitably checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers' defined requirements.
Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate confirmed procedures.
Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties.  

Who we’re looking for

HND/HNC Engineering Qualification
Previous experience of Utilities – Diversions or New Connections – Desirable
Previous experience of tracking and collating handover documentation and deliverables for major infrastructure projects
Able to articulate engineering concepts both verbally and written to stakeholders.
Competent in AutoCAD or MicroStation  

About the Project
The HS2/BBV Utilities Framework Contract comprises the diversion of various utility assets (Gas, Water, Power, Comms and Sewers) across HS2’s Area North.
