Job Description: As the Senior Director of Interior Design, you will lead our design team and oversee the conceptualization and implementation of interior design strategies across our properties. This role demands a blend of creativity and leadership, coupled with extensive experience in the luxury hotel sector. You will be instrumental in ensuring that each property reflects our brand’s standards for elegance and luxury, while also pushing creative boundaries.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Leadership and Execution:
Oversee the interior design for new hotel projects and renovations from concept through completion.
Develop and implement design strategies that align with our brand’s vision of luxury and guest experience.
Manage all aspects of the design process, including mood boards, material specifications, color schemes, furniture selection, and the procurement of custom pieces.
Project Management:
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are executed flawlessly and within budget.
Lead multiple project teams, ensuring that all deadlines are met and design standards are upheld.
Regularly review and assess project progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet our high standards.
Vendor and Stakeholder Relations:
Cultivate relationships with high-end vendors, artists, and craftspeople to source unique materials and decor items.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and contractors to ensure favorable terms for the company.
Serve as the primary design liaison with stakeholders, effectively communicating design concepts and ensuring alignment with business goals.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of interior designers and project managers.
Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and the sharing of creative ideas.
Develop team capabilities to keep pace with current design trends and techniques.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
At least 10 years of experience in interior design, with significant leadership experience in the luxury hotel sector.
Skills:
Exceptional design skills with a proven track record of executing high-end, innovative projects.
Strong project management abilities and experience leading large-scale design projects.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
Benefits
Compensation:
Salary: $150,000 - $250,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
