Founded in 2017, Eden GeoPower develops technologies to increase the power production potential of geothermal reservoirs, mineral yield from mining, and similar subsurface applications. Our goal is to offer a sustainable solution that reduces or eliminates the need to conduct hydraulic fracturing to increase the recovery of these resources. With our novel electric rock fracturing technology, we will be able to decrease underground water contamination, wastewater production, air pollution, and induced seismicity associated with current fracturing methods. We have received more than $12.5 million in non-dilutive funding to date, and had a recent first close of $6.2 million on our current series seed round target
We are looking for an experienced Power or High-Voltage Electrical Engineer to work directly with Eden’s Engineering team, and our partners at the Pulsed Power Research Group at the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center to develop pulsed power and similar high-voltage equipment for Eden. This equipment will be used to increase the economic recovery of natural earth resources in the mining, geothermal, carbon sequestration, and geologic hydrogen industries. The role will require knowledge of high-voltage, high-power equipment equipment, and we will develop custom puls and high-voltage equipment for testing in the field and lab environments.
Tasks:
Lead development of custom high power pulse generators
Operation of pulse power and DC power devices in the field and lab environments
Create safety plan for high-voltage, high-power equipment in the lab and field
Prepare and present project updates, technical presentations and reports for the client
Prepare governmental reports, funding proposals, presentations, etc.
Requirements
PhD or Master’s in electrical power engineering or similar field
Minimum 5 years of experience working with power systems or power systems engineering
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to make technically andeconomically sound recommendations with incomplete information
Strong knowledge of power systems engineering and best practices
Experience developing Marx generators or similar power devices
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Willingness to travel to field sites
Excellent technical and team communication skills
Willingness to learn and share knowledge and challenges to benefit the teams
