Brief Description
Our client, a well-established company in the HTP sector, is seeking a Highways Interface Adviser to provide specialist technical advice and ensure compliance with highways interface legislation. In this contract role, you will play a vital role in managing and progressing statutory notifications for the organisation's activities with a highway interface.
About The Role (External)

Support the effective management of the Street Works Notice Management System for a defined geographical area.
Progress statutory notifications to relevant local authorities, street works undertakers, and other bodies for all the companies activities that have a highway interface.
Update the street works management system in accordance with national processes and populate systems with data.
Liaise with highway authorities, statutory undertakers, and public utilities as required, and advise on attendance at highway authorities coordination meetings, where necessary.
Attend and represent the organisation at regional highway authority and utility committee (HAUC) and the Joint Authorities Group (JAG [UK]) meetings.
Interface and liaise with local Authorities on the introduction and application of chargeable Permits required for Network Rail works.
Validation on Fixed Penalty fines made against the Route and management of the process where the company's works were undertaken in accordance with New Road and Streetworks regulations.
Determine and populate street designations to protect the company's interests in the national street gazetteer (NSG).
Provide advice on and action external electronic notifications in order to minimise business disbenefits and maximise opportunities.
Deliver awareness briefings and training on the legislative requirements and the company's processes for highways interfaces.
Essential

BTEC or equivalent qualification.
Experience in street works management in an appropriate environment.
Knowledge of New Roads and Street Works legislation and associated codes of practice.
Good information technology skills.
Desirable

Membership of a relevant professional body.
Knowledge of public, common, contractual, and railway legislation affecting street works.
Good communication skills.
Awareness of railway infrastructure and its functionality.
Good railway and geographical knowledge.
