Job Description: As a Night Transport Planner, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all transportation activities during the night shift. Your primary objective will be to ensure the smooth execution of delivery schedules, maximise fleet utilisation, and minimise costs while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities:

1. Route Planning and Optimisation: Designing efficient delivery routes to maximise on-time deliveries while minimising mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle wear and tear.

2. Load Planning: Strategically allocating freight to vehicles, considering capacity constraints, weight distribution, and delivery priorities.

3. Real-Time Monitoring: Using transportation management systems (TMS) and GPS tracking to monitor vehicle locations and proactively address any delays or issues.

4. Communication: Coordinating with drivers, warehouse staff, and other stakeholders to communicate delivery schedules, special instructions, and any changes to the plan.

5. Problem Resolution: Identifying and resolving transportation-related problems such as traffic delays, equipment breakdowns, or driver shortages.

6. Emergency Response: Responding to emergency situations such as accidents, breakdowns, or severe weather events to ensure the safety of drivers and cargo.

Qualifications:

* Previous experience in transport planning preferably in a night-shift role.

* Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and route optimisation software.

* Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.

* Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

* Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.

* Flexibility to work night shifts Monday to Friday
