Senior Category Manager:
The ideal background would be a mix of public and private sector experience. If candidates are not from our local competitor base then potentially consider a wider competitor market, maybe utilities or defence? Contractor experience would be good, as would consultancy experience. We are looking to tick as many of the following as possible:
Strong leadership skills
Strong relationship management skills
Construction or materials background (preferably materials)
Public sector experience
Demonstrable project management / managing a dynamic workload
The Role as Senior Category Manager:
The Senior Category Manager they will be responsible for overseeing and optimising the product portfolio within their assigned categories.
They will collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders, including procurement, finance, marketing, sales and supply chain to develop and execute effective category strategies.
This role demands a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of market trends, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in category performance.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience they are seeking from you:
Degree in a related field or MBA would be a plus
Category Management experience
Strong analytical skills where you can interpret and make strategic decisions
Understanding of market trends, competitor landscapes and industry best practice
Excellent ability to communicate and present
Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement related software
