Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Design Engineer (Inventor) will handle design projects from point of sale through to installation and commissioning. This role combines 3D CAD design using Autodesk Inventor with hands on engineering and is truly cradle to grave.

Description
The Design Engineer (Inventor) will:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will handle design projects from point of sale through to installation and commissioning.
This role combines 3D CAD design using Autodesk Inventor with hands on engineering and is truly cradle to grave.
Working with a small team of specialist production, purchasing and installation engineers to deliver a bespoke product that meets and exceeds the end user's expectations.
You will be expected to travel to customer sites worldwide to measure client's machines and discuss their requirements, creating a design specification from which to work to.
Once the details are gathered you will be responsible for designing a full system, detailing parts and creating BOM's that will meet the agreed specification.
After the design has been completed you will oversee and provide technical support during the manufacture at our facility ensuring the product meets the high quality demanded for a premium product.
You will then provide installation advice and guidance, assisting in this process on occasion and troubleshooting when required.Profile
The successful Design Engineer (Inventor) will have:
Minimum 5 Years Design Experience in bespoke machinery or other equipment industry
Degree Qualified, Level 5 HND or Apprentice trained in a relevant discipline
Longstanding 3D CAD Experience on Autodesk Inventor or similar
Experience in producing Bills of Materials (BOMS) on Microsoft AX or similar
Ability to produce designs using standardised components to allow integration into future projects, whilst being optimised for efficient, economical manufacture with inbuilt flexibility
Ability to follow Engineering Management of Change procedures, preferably with experience of Autodesk Vault
Practical on-site engineering skills and methodology, particularly a good level of metrology experience
Ability to understand and design pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Experience in producing 2D manufacturing and assembly drawings to BS 308/8888
Fabrication and Sheet metal experience are desirable Job Offer
