Mechanical Setter

Adecco are delighted to be working on behalf of our client who are a local manufacturing employer, very established with an excellent reputation within their field. We are looking for a candidate to join the team working 39 hours a week over Monday- Friday.

Broad responsibilities:

The role is primarily a mechanical engineering role that does also incorporate operating the machinery in production. Ideally a multi skilled fitter / semi qualified electrician would be ideal but the majority of the work is mechanical.

Sometimes the setter is part of the production team running a machine for direct production.

The setter position who carries out planned maintenance, breakdown maintenance and the more complex problem solving and machine setup activities

Key skills needed:

Safety. Respect for machinery and the rules. Safety culture.

Quality and attention to detail. Thorough nature of work to do things properly. Things done right and in their place.

Teamworking and flexibility. Teamworking involving solving both engineering issues and machine setup issues, assisting operators with problems that they cannot solve and at some times running the machines.

Mechanical skills. A good appreciation of machinery and how machine adjustments affect finished product. Be able to identify when things don't look right and take steps to put them right. Planned maintenance / breakdown maintenance and problem solving.

The department is busy and the person will need to be robust and able to prioritise tasks and work under pressure balancing a number of different demands
