Director of Nursing - Home Health

We are currently seeking a Director of Nursing (DoN) to join our team and oversee the delivery of exceptional care to our patients.
As the DoN, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and growth of our home health services. You will be responsible for overseeing all nursing operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and maintaining high standards of patient care. This is a full-time, onsite position in Chicago, Illinois.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality home health services to patients
- Oversee all nursing operations, including patient assessments, care plans, and coordination of care
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of nursing staff and provide ongoing training and development opportunities
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans for patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
- Participate in the recruitment and hiring of nursing staff
- Manage the budget for the nursing department and ensure efficient use of resources
- Stay informed about industry trends and developments, and make recommendations for improvement and growth
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois
- Other relevant healthcare licensure may be required. Certifications such as CHCE (Certified Home Care and Hospice Executive) or CPHM (Certified Professional in Healthcare Management) are desirable and indicative of healthcare management competence.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in home health nursing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to home health services
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in using electronic medical records and other healthcare software. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and healthcare information systems is advantageous.
