ROLE OVERVIEW:
Wisk is pioneering Generation 6, the premier fully autonomous all-electric eVTOL aircraft. They require a Director to lead their Flight Test & Operations team. This team oversees all flight test and operation activities, including managing the test aircraft fleet and executing flight test plans. The main goal is to ensure the safe collection of crucial flight test data for the Generation 6 aircraft development program and achieve first flight this year!
AS DIRECTOR OF FLIGHT TEST & OPERATIONS YOULL:
* charge of collecting flight test data to support the Gen 6 program, including instrumentation, engineering support, flight operations, and aircraft management.
* Chief Pilot activities for R&D operations, surrogate aircraft operation, and more.
* FAA qualifications for company test pilots.
* and mentor your team as we work towards certifying an autonomous eVTOL aircraft.
* a strong safety culture and understand risk in aircraft certification.

THE SUCCESSFUL DIRECTOR OF FLIGHT TEST & OPERATIONS WILL HAVE:
* 15+ years of experience in flight and/or systems integration and test encompassing experience with rotary wing aircraft
* Experience of UAV/UAS/eVTOL
* Engaged with agencies for certification testing.
* Experience in prioritizing test activities to support development goals.
* Proficiency in testing and integrating complex flight control, power management, and avionics systems.
* Demonstrated leadership ability in resource-constrained environments.
* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
* Experience leading large, diverse teams.
* BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
* Experience with manned and unmanned test programs.
* Experience in certification test programs (civil or military).
DESIRED:
* MS or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
* Technical expertise in aircraft development disciplines in addition to flight/systems test.
* Experience as a Chief Test Pilot
