We are seeking a Plant Department Manager.

As the Plant Manager you will manage the hire fleet for considerable non-mechanical plant business which includes temporary site accommodation, road transportable marine plant (including the Linkflote system), RMD formwork and the maintenance and management of our internal plant fleet which includes crawler, hydraulic and overhead cranes, telehandlers, welding sets et al.
Responsible for the efficient and safe maintenance of the plant fleet, ensuring our clients fleet meets internal and client standards as well as complying with VWUK plant standards. Ensures all statutory inspection and testing is carried out, responsible for compliance and that all insurances are in place.
Supervises and monitors the performance of the externally managed plant hire desk. To ensure timely and accurate live hire reports are issued, checks on the accuracy of information and ensures payments are processed. Liaises with the VS accounts team and office managers to ensure sites and suppliers are working to procedures and that any issues are closed out.
Monitors preferred supplier performance, holds regular meetings with suppliers to close out any performance issues. Along with the procurement team, assists in the negotiation in preferred supplier agreements.
To be able to identify plant items to expand the fleet, able to put together CAPEX to support our major investment plans.
Position would suit an individual who has managed a plant fleet previously
