The EC&I Engineer will be a key role within the UK business, working within the Control & Automation Department to manage and deliver projects and key customers. The position requires a broad electrical engineering knowledge and experience in the range of technical roles and responsibilities carried out by this department.

Key relationships: Managing Director (UK), Engineering Departments, Control & Automation Team

Key Objectives

• Professionally and effectively work with a team of Electrical and Automation engineers to ensure tasks are achieved in accordance with customer requirements and in line with the Company’s values and quality standards

• Assist in accurately defining, and where appropriate, design and maintain innovative production processes to improve efficiency, flexibility and technical depth of the Company’s electrical design capacity.

• Ensure adherence to departmental KPI’s and Quality standards

• Agree and apply electrical standards

• To use own initiative for continuous personal development

Principal Responsibilities

• Promote and display effective communication internally and externally ensuring all other members of the team do likewise to achieve highest standards and to ensure the Company’s reputation is preserved, whilst creating a professional culture

• Liaise with the project team to plan and prioritise tasks efficiently to achieve profitable and timely delivery of contracted outputs

• Adhere to the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and other requirements in relation to the office working environment and customer’s sites

• Ensure electrical standards are maintained and output is consistent, accurate and profitable

• Any other duties reasonably associated to this position as assigned by the EC&I Manager

Skills & Knowledge

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Word and Excel

• Customer liaison to obtain design requirements and ensure the compliance of standards and specifications are followed

• Carry out site surveys to obtain design information

• Design of electrical control systems including the production of PLC I/O lists, electrical control panel schematic diagrams, terminal lists, cable block diagrams, cable schedules and core schedules

• Participate in the selection and procurement of electrical components and instrumentation

• Production of specifications and enquiry documents for the procurement of electrical control panels, instrumentation and electrical installations

• Evaluation of the returned electrical control panels, instrumentation and electrical installation quotations

• Procurement and progressing of electrical control panel manufacture and electrical installations

• Carry out FAT of electrical control panels

• Management and supervision of the electrical installation sub-contractor, ensuring that quality and specifications are delivered in the agreed timescales, organising shutdowns and work permits

• Control customer and supplier variations

• Carry out electrical dry testing, including setting up of instrumentation, inverters and process equipment

• Assist the commissioning team during wet testing and product trials

• Production of RAMS for all electrical site activities

• Production of final project documentation
