Brook Street Social Care are recruiting for a Substance Misuse Team Leader on behalf of their client who have been transforming the lives of people affected by drug and alcohol misuse for 40 years.

They have a variety of teams delivering psychologic interventions to individuals with substance use issues. The teams specialise in parental substance misuse, criminal justice, outreach, groupwork, early intervention, assessments and provide services in at community hubs.

The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Senior Management Team for the service and provide leadership and management for staff in the groupwork and early intervention teams. The role will support the development of practice across the service.

Main Responsibilities:

Facilitate staff meetings
* To lead and manage a team over various sites and attend staff and management
meetings as required
* Ensure quality standards are met in line with KPI's
* Liaise with referrers, purchasers and partners and ensure a consistent approach and
philosophy within the department are used
* Participate in case conferences and present cases in multi-disciplinary team meetings,
as required
* Collate all statistics, figures and performance information, as required, for internal and
external purposes.
* Ensure the department is integrated with all elements of the local substance misuse
system
* Coordinate the medical, nursing, social work and psychologic functions of the
department
* To assist in the day-to-day operation of the department. Including the delivery of
individual key working where necessary, including assessing risk and ensuring a safe
and appropriate environment for all through the prevention and management of abusive
and aggressive behaviour
* Where necessary to act as a care coordinator and carry out individual assessments,
develop and review support plans and agree withdrawal plans, prepare the service user
for entry into other services
* Develop, support, nurture and challenge the knowledge and practice of the team
Team Leader

* To lead the development of the service and department practice and monitor delivery
and performance
* Assist in the development of new initiatives and new ways of working to promote the
best services for substance misusers
* Provide line management to the team including areas of Human Resources including
disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence in line with policies and procedures
* Support with HR issues on disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence in line with
policies and procedures
* Ensure policies and procedures are implemented effectively and consistently
* Represent the service internally and externally when directed and function as part of the
management team
* Liaise with the Service Manager on all aspects the department's budget
* Develop, implement and monitor, the department practice and protocols
* Ensure the department develops and maintains a library of practice, evidence and
research on substance misuse
* Maintain a high standard of records and case notes, records of key performance
indicators and employee records
* Take the lead in devising appropriate systems for ease of administration and monitor
staff performance using these systems
* Devise and produce manuals and reports for the project
* To abide by ethical Codes of Practice, developing your own knowledge and
practice, and participate in management supervision and team meetings so as to fulfil
your role as an effective member of the team and with a maximum emphasis on sound
practice and case management
* Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested
