Draughtsperson

White Label is representing an engineering and manufacturing business in Knottingley that has an opportunity for a Draughtsperson to join their team.

Working for the Group Production Director this position is one of two draughting positions which form the Engineering Design capability of the company.

The role will be designing all the production and manufacturing equipment that the company use such as conveyors, production lines and material handling equipment.

Responsibilities of the Draughtsperson

* Use of 3D and 2D AutoCAD packages.

* Produce full detailed engineering drawings and specifications for manufacture and assembly.

* Further develop conceptual designs of automated production plant equipment.

* Understand the principles of hydraulics, pneumatics, drive systems, and all associated parts.

* Design and detail steelwork – structural work, platforms, access, and pipework.

* Perform structural calculations.

* Select and size drives to suit application requirements.

* Design for efficient use of manufacturing resources and materials.

* Selection and specification of material suited for purpose.

* Liaise with suppliers for component specification and availability.

* Support / advise engineering staff throughout manufacture from issued drawings.

* Communicate effectively with other members of the Engineering team.

Experience required of the Draughtsperson

* A minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering design role.

* Qualified to HNC level in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

* Experience designing machinery, material handling equipment, production equipment, hydraulics/pneumatics equipment, structural steel or pipework would be advantageous.

Package

* Salary reflective of experience £30K - £45K

* Full-time, 40 hours per week.

* 22 days paid annual holiday increasing by 1 day per year up to 27 days. Plus, statutory holidays.

* Participate in the profit-sharing scheme (discretionary payment being based on company performance)
