We are thrilled to be recruiting for our FMCG Manufacturing client whose main UK site is based in Preston.
We are looking for a Purchasing Manager with previous experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally with having managed the purchasing support team (here you will be responsible for 2 people in your team).
CIPS L4 would be highly advantageous.
Your New Role as Purchasing Manager
> Ensure that raw materials and componentry are purchased to meet the requirements of the production plan.
> To ensure best value is delivered by suppliers at all times.
> Assist in the management and development of the supply base to meet the strategic requirements of the business.
> Develop robust supplier relationships and create and manage the supplier performance process.
> Drive quality improvement and cost reduction initiatives across the range of primary and secondary packaging and raw material supplies in conjunction with the senior team.
> Support and enhance the rationalisation of supplies whilst supporting EPD, NPD and ongoing projects.
> Ensure all processes are compliant with our clients ISO9001 environment.
> Develop and maintain KPI reporting.
> Support the transition from Legacy Manufacturing / MRP System to new MRP / ERP software solution.
Previous Experience
> 4+ years' experience in a Procurement role or similar, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Personal care and household products knowledge preferred.
> Proven history of effective international supply chain management with demonstrable levels of achievements.
> Expert knowledge of purchasing and supply chain systems and MRP/ERP systems.
> Financial acumen.
> High competency level in MS Office applications especially Excel (including pivot tables and VLookUps)

> Ability to manage multiple priorities within deadline for themselves and the team and prioritize effectively, while delivering high quality work
Contractual Obligations & Benefits
> £40,000 - £45,000 salary
> Monday to Thursday 8am-4.30pm Fridays 8am-3.30pm
> 25 days annual leave (saving 3 days for their Christmas Shutdown)
> NEST Pension
> Full site based role
