Our esteemed client is a well-established subcontract structural steel frame installation specialist, providing comprehensive services across the UK. With a strong pipeline of diverse and exciting projects, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and/or review tender documents, contracts, sub-contracts, appointment and sub-appointment documents, and bills of quantities.
- Proficiently handle various contract forms, including JCT D&B, management contracting, and NEC, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
- Efficiently manage project costs from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets and financial objectives.
- Price and forecast project costs, reporting periodically on the financial status of individual projects.
- Track changes to the design and/or construction work, managing project costs and subcontractors accordingly.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with cost, contracts, and procurement.
- Effectively manage subcontractor relationships, including procurement, payment applications, and dispute resolution. - Identify opportunities for cost savings and value enhancement.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in main contracting, with a focus on similar schemes.
- Comprehensive understanding of traditional, steel frame, or timber frame construction methods.
- Proficiency in handling various contract forms, including JCT D&B, management contracting, and NEC (desirable).
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using relevant quantity surveying software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
