The Burford Recruitment Company are thrilled to work with our clients, a newly refurbished luxury grade 2 listed hotel, in the beautiful town of Burford, Oxfordshire.

They are seeking a passionate and talented Sous Chef to join their esteemed culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the establishment’s reputation for culinary excellence while contributing to the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere of the high-end luxury hotel. From providing creative ideas for the menus to working across a variety of restaurants within the Hotel and its sister Hotel which is due to be completed at the end of Summer 2024, this role offers you a unique opportunity for growth and creativity in a fun and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with the Chef to develop and execute seasonal menus that showcase creativity and flair, incorporating locally sourced ingredients and global culinary trends.

* Lead by example, fostering a culture of enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork among kitchen staff.

* Oversee daily kitchen operations across multiple restaurants, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to food safety standards.

* Train, mentor, and inspire junior kitchen staff, fostering their professional development and growth within the culinary industry.

* Uphold meticulous attention to detail in food preparation, presentation, and plating, consistently exceeding guest expectations.

* Work closely with restaurant managers and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless coordination between kitchen and dining areas, enhancing the overall guest experience.

* Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and manage kitchen budgets to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.

* Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making, anticipating and addressing potential issues before they arise.

* Embrace a hands-on approach to kitchen operations, leading by example and demonstrating a strong work ethic and dedication to excellence.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or luxury hotel setting.

* Passion for culinary arts and a keen eye for detail.

* Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.

* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Additional Information:

* 45 Hours per Week on a Rota Basis

* Live-Out Position Only
