What we are looking for?

*

To independently manage all aspects of the kitchen to ensure children receive healthy, balanced and nutritious meals and snacks during the day.

*

To independently manage ordering, recipe development and service of food in a timely manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

*

Prepare, cook and bake tasty food: All meals freshly prepared using seasonal ingredients and delivered to the nursery’s menu and daily timetable.

*

Dietary Requirements: Ensure all dietary requirements and allergies are appropriately catered for.

*

Placing Orders & Budgets: Responsibility for preparing and placing food orders weekly and to budget.

*

Develop Menus: Work with the Head and Director to plan and create a range of delicious seasonal menus and weaning plans.

*

Sourcing Ingredients: Work with the Head and Director when sourcing new ingredients to ensure they meet the Nursery’s quality standards.

*

Event Food: Prepare food for Nursery key events taking place on and off site.

*

Quality Control: Check quality of food delivered to ensure high standards are met.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Passionate to work in a Nursery environment producing varied recipes for young children everyday

*

Loves making delicious and healthy food, with an eye for presentation

*

Confident and happy to work independently

*

Strong administrative skills including confidence with numbers when ordering to budgets and scaling recipes.

*

Positive can-do attitude

*

Creative in recipe ideas for seasonal recipe development
