Dutypoint produces, sells and distributes pump systems primarily to the construction sector for the provision of solutions such as hot and cold water, water pressure booster sets, waste water management systems and fire safety sprinkler systems.

As Production Planner at Dutypoint, you will be pivotal in optimising production schedules to meet customer demands and revenue targets. You will utilise advanced planning techniques to ensure smooth operations, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to maximise efficiency and ensure optimised utilisation of the Production resource. Additionally, you will have overall responsibility for daily dispatches, ensuring orders are filled on time in full. The Production Administrator role, responsible for logistics and dispatches, will report directly to you.

Principal Responsibilities / Duties

·        Coordinate with various departments, including Customer Response Team, Procurement and Logistics to ensure seamless execution of production plans and timely delivery of finished goods.

·        Planning of production schedule to ensure utilisation of resource is optimised

·        Ensuring full kits of all parts are available sufficiently prior to build and working with other departments to expedite if necessary

·        Developing a production planning team as required and in line with business needs

·        Overseeing transport with logistics companies

·        Supporting operations manager in driving efficiencies throughout the order-delivery process

·        Supporting New Product Development team with introduction of new products into production

·        Weekly reporting / forecasting of outbound carriage costs

·        Direct line responsibility for the Production Administrator

·        Identify potential risks to production schedules and dispatch operation and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions

·        Utilise advanced planning techniques to optimise production schedules, resource utilisation and inventory levels whilst minimising costs and lead times.

·        Monitor and analyse production performance metrics, such as capacity utilisation, throughput and efficiency and take proactive measures to address any deviations from plan.

·        Conduct regular line balancing exercises to optimise production line efficiency, minimise bottlenecks and improve overall throughput.

·        Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements and best practices in production planning and scheduling and recommend process improvements or system enhancements as appropriate.

Requirements

·        Finisher, content only with completing tasks fully and to high standards

·        Proficient with MS Office Word and Outlook with Advanced Excel skills

·        Previous experience in ERP and MRP systems

·        Previous Manufacturing / Production experience at similar level

·        Willing to learn

·        Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the industrial equipment or consumer goods sector.

·        Proven track record of successfully managing production schedules, optimising resource utilisation and meeting customer delivery requirements.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and made data-driven decisions.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships.

·        Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems would be advantageous.

·        Experience in capacity planning, demand forecasting and inventory management modules.

·        Knowledge of line balancing techniques and experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and throughput.

·        People management skills with experience in goal setting and personal appraisals.
