We are recruiting for an experienced finance professional to join our Leominster based client in their newly created position as Finance Manager.

The purpose of this position is to develop the existing team, identify potential improvements for service delivery, and ensure successful implementation, whilst promoting and supporting creative ways of thinking and working within the team.

There is scope for growth within the business, and our client is seeking a proactive and innovative person to drive growth and pursue further commercial opportunities.

What you can expect:

Salary: circa £40,000 - £45,000 pro rata

30 hours per week

Permanent

Leominster based with free onsite parking

Hybrid working options

28 days annual leave - increasing by 1 day per year of service

What you will be doing:

*

Provide strategic leadership and management of the department

*

Support the payroll team in setting and achieving objectives aligned with the overall business plan

*

Ensure accurate and timely processing of payments per HMRC, Local Authority, and Company procedures

*

Respond to changing priorities and support the team in achieving outcomes

*

Mediate complex situations, seeking specialist advice when needed

*

Participate in the senior management team on-call rota

*

Undertake necessary training and mentor the team to develop their skills and expertise

*

Manage service delivery to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and legal compliance

*

Work with the Head of Finance to set operational costs and budgets, aiming for a consistent surplus

*

Communicate changes to the service and promote it to stakeholders in collaboration with marketing colleagues

*

Collect, process, and analyse data for service reports and escalate complex issues as needed

*

Monitor and evaluate performance, develop system processes, and ensure compliance with data protection and GDPR guidelines

*

Support payroll services using IRIS software, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures

What we are looking for:

*

Experience of managing and developing staff

*

Knowledge of HMRC compliance

*

Experience of running payrolls

*

Bookkeeping experience

*

Ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines

*

Experience and aptitude to work on own initiative, lead a team, and collaborate with colleagues to deliver results

*

Strong ICT skills including Microsoft applications

*

Experience in analysing and interpreting data and presenting in a relevant format

*

Experience of working in charity/not-for-profit organisation would be advantageous
