School Cook Required at one of our schools in Huddersfield
Days: Monday to Friday - 5 hours per day
Hours: can be flexible on this to suit
This opportunity for initially temporary, but when starting this role, you stand a strong chance of securing the long term position at the school
Duties:
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts
The cook will prepare breakfast (toast/crumpets and drinks) Mid-morning snacks (wraps or sandwiches, students order on arrival) Finally then a hot lunch.
Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations
Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely service
Maintain a clean and organized work area
What we are looking for:
Experience of working in a catering/ busy kitchen environment and complying with health and safety standards.
Experience working as part of a team and using your own initiative.
Effective customer service skills and being able to work to high standards.
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to undertake training and professional development.
Requirements
To have or be willing to obtain a DBS certificate on the update service.
Provide a minimum of two references to cover the last 24 months of employment.
