Primary Behaviour Support

At Tradewind, we are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant for a lovely primary school in the heart of Hackney. To support a child in Year 5 with behavioural issues and ADHD.

Responsibilities of the role:

Provide support to the pupil on a 1:1 basis
Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages the pupil to engage with their education.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement an individualised behaviour plan.
Support in developing social skills and managing their emotions effectively.
Foster and maintain a positive relationship, promoting their well-being and building trust.
Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the teaching staff and relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with parents/guardians, external agencies, and the wider school community to ensure effective communication and support for the pupil is carried through.Requirements for the role:

Previous experience working with pupils who have challenging behaviour or have been excluded from mainstream schools is desirable.
A strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
Ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with pupils.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with pupils facing emotional and behavioural challenges.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of the pupils.
