I am working with a global leader in manufacturing and distributing high-quality machinery attachments primarily for the construction, earthmoving, and agricultural industries. They are looking to the UK for strong talent that can bring knowledge and high manufacturing standards to their organisation.
Principal Accountabilities:
(These accountabilities are not exhaustive and represent examples of the work performed by this position only)
* Ensure the production schedule is executed efficiently.
* Report any and all details regarding why the plan was not achieved.
* Follow up on any investigation processes as requested by the Machine Shop Supervisor.
* Ensure the machine shop operates in full compliance with work procedures and standards.
* Operate the machine shop using lean techniques, including adherence to 5S principles.
* Operate, set, and program machine shop plans/routings based on priority and best practices, with an emphasis on planning and scheduling.
* Machine parts/products in accordance with the production plan.
* Monitor the consumption of consumables and tools, initiating reordering when necessary.
* Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
* Assist in reducing setup time and machining time through process improvements.
* Report all machine shop repair and maintenance records to the Manager.
* Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications using tools such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and rulers.
* Ensure products are produced to product specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Ensure stock takes are accurate.
* Report times using the ERP/MRP System (Lawson).
* Maintain housekeeping by ensuring a clean and safe workplace.
* Attend and contribute to meetings as required, including toolbox meetings.
* Perform other duties as requested from time to time.
* Assist with stock takes as required.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
* Trade qualified or demonstrated and related equivalent experience.
* Minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role.
* Physically fit to perform the physical requirements of the role (yearly physical exam may apply).
* Ability to read drawings, job specifications, and instructions.
* Competent computer skills.
* Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Highly motivated.
* Current and valid driver’s license.
Teamwork, Leadership, and Interpersonal Skills:
* Self-motivated, with a high level of communication skills.
* Good organizational and planning skills.
* Accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines are essential
