Opportunity available for an experienced Court of Protection Fee Earner (Solicitor/Legal Executive) to join a growing team within a Legal 500 firm based in the centre of Manchester.
The role will involve:
* Running your own varied caseload of deputyships and some personal injury trusts, arising from personal injury or clinical negligence claims.
* Carrying out work on a broad range of deputyships matters.
* Delegating to and being supported by paralegals.
* Day to day contact with clients and their families, dealing with their individual lifestyle requirements, providing practical advice.
* Supporting and protecting client’s needs on a wide range of issues including financial planning, management of their funds, assets, property and care arrangements.
* Working with families, therapists, case managers, social services and local authorities, care providers, government bodies, benefits agencies, financial institutions, and other professional bodies.
Background and experience required:
* 2+ years’ experience in COP, ideally running your own caseload as a solicitor or legal executive.
* A commitment to excellent client care and court of protection work.
* Able to set and manage client’s budgets and cashflow effectively.
* Excellent IT skills particularly with experience in Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Ability to communicate well orally and in writing, including dealing directly with clients.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Exceptional organisational skills.
* Strong team working ethic.

* Salary dependent on PQE level and experience of COP cases.
* A minimum of 25 days' annual leave (increasing with length of service) plus office closure between Christmas and New Year.
* A one hour early finish, one Friday a month.
