General Teaching Assistant

Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary: £83 - £96 per day
Start Date: Immediate or September 2024
Contract Type: Part Time

About the Role:
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated General Teaching Assistant to join our team in York. This part-time position is available for an immediate start or a September 2024 start. We are looking for someone who is committed to working with young people, helping them to achieve their full potential. You will support teaching in the delivery of the national curriculum and other learning processes, to both groups and individual pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils consistently whilst responding to their individual needs.
Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating, and adjusting lessons/work plans as appropriate.
Carry out administrative duties, such as preparing the classroom and clearing away after class to ensure effective teaching can take place.
The ability to challenge children when they display negative behaviour and become reluctant learners.
Assist in the planning and implementation of daily activities.
Available to work Monday to Friday during term time.
Working Hours:

33 hours per week.
8:45am - 3:40pm, 4 days per week.
8:45am - 4:10pm, 1 day per week.
Each day includes a 25-minute lunch break.
Alternative working hours and pattern will be considered.
The Successful Candidate Will:

Use initiative, be well-organised, and pro-active.
Have strong organisational skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills suitable for dealing with colleagues and students.
Demonstrate a strong regard for pupil safety and wellbeing.
Hold relevant qualifications or experience as a Teaching Assistant.
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
