The "Systems and Processes Team" within the Intraday Trading and Dispatch Management Desk is in charge of the operation and development of various core operational systems for the commercialisation and control of one of Europe's largest fleets of power stations.
More than 20 GW of currently installed capacity are spread across various asset classes including conventional, renewable and storage and we look forward to an additional 3 GW from RWE's Battery investment pipeline in the very near future.
One particular area of focus in our team is our SCADA-system infrastructure (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) that connects our optimisation systems with our power stations. These systems are part of the critical infrastructure (KRITIS) and need to be treated with the appropriate attention.
As a member of our team, you will share the responsibility for the proper functioning and the further improvement of our SCADA systems and their foundations, drive the implementation of new assets in the systems and develop the functionalities required to tap into new commercial opportunities.
Monitor and backtest the behaviour of the systems to identify issues and improve their stability
Support operational users, including participation in the 24/7 remote on-call service
Implement control connections and internal modelling for new assets
Develop new functionalities and automate processes within the SCADA systems and their environment to translate business and TSO requirements to SCADA solutions
Extensively collaborate with operative business users, IT, modelling experts, asset operators, grid operators and software suppliers
Provide stakeholder management towards the various interest groups
Support the development of a long-term picture for the SCADA system landscape
Your powerful skills
Degree or extensive work experience in a relevant subject, e.g. a University degree in mathematics, engineering, natural science or a related field, preferably combined with a commercial education or background
Strong analytical and conceptual skills to suit the complexity of the systems and their interdependencies
Ability to independently assess various approaches to solving tasks and reach decisions in a structured manner
The ability to effectively communicate complex matters with stakeholders from different levels of expertise and backgrounds
Excellent team player and professionalism in collaboration with stakeholders
Courage to address problems, gaps and development needs in a solution-oriented and constructive manner taking into account divers perspectives on the topic
Fluent language skills in German
Advantageous, but not a must
Experience with automation and control systems
Programming skills
Fluent language skills in English
