SEN Maths Teacher - Full-Time Position

Location: Portsmouth

An esteemed independent all-through school in Portsmouth is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Maths Teacher to join their team. This mainstream school includes a specialised SEN provision housed in a dedicated building, catering to 15 students with learning difficulties.

The SEN provision is designed to offer tailored support in small class settings, ensuring each student receives the attention and guidance they need.

The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Maths to Key Stage 3 and 4 students with learning difficulties. Classes are small, with no more than 6 students, allowing for focused and individualised instruction. Responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students.
Developing and implementing individualised learning plans.
Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing regular feedback.
Creating a supportive and motivating classroom environment.
Collaborating with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and other staff to provide comprehensive support.
The Ideal Candidate:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEN education.
Specialisation or significant experience in teaching Maths.
A patient, motivating, and encouraging demeanor.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
