Payroll Specialist

Job Description:As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and regulations. You will play a key role in maintaining payroll records, resolving payroll discrepancies, and providing support to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
Process multi-state payroll for employees using payroll software/system.
Calculate wages, deductions, and adjustments accurately, including overtime, bonuses, and commissions.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
Reconcile payroll data and resolve any discrepancies or errors in a timely manner.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other departments as needed.
Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 and 1099 preparation.
Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.
Provide support to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries and issues in a professional and timely manner.
Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and handle sensitive data with discretion.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar role.
Proficiency in payroll software/systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and MS Office, especially Excel.
Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
